Exploring the true meaning of "ugly" and "pretty" with "Uglies" by Scott Westerfield
Following Spring Break, Ms. Gately's 7th grade LA Class will begin exploring issues of body image, self-worth, and loyalty by reading Scott Westerfield's dystopian novel, "Uglies". This book is the first in a series and all students are encouraged to check out "Pretties" and "Specials" to enhance their reading experience as they delve into Book #1.
Note: The book is available online for free download. All students who have a device at home are encouraged to download the book so that they may catch up on reading if they are absent and can revisit their favorite passages.
